South Cerney Halls VE Day decorations

posted 8 May 2020, 01:31 by Kate Brown   [ updated 8 May 2020, 01:33 ]

This village has been amazing as usual! A myriad of beautiful bunting dropped into Fenton's to decorate the window for VE Day.

The Village Hall has theirs up too!

Ann Edward's School kindly sent bunting over too made by the Keyworker's children who are attending school.

If you are passing on your daily exercise why not see if you can spot yours!

Easter Bunny Competition

posted 9 Apr 2020, 06:53 by Kate Brown   [ updated 9 Apr 2020, 06:55 ]

Easter Competition! All ages....just for fun...as we all know the Easter Bunny is just a hop, skip and a jump away...it would be fun to see him pop up in some of our South Cerney windows! Here at Fenton's we are asking you to draw your version of the infamous bunny and display him in your window, take a photo and send it to our FaceBook page (southcerneyhalls) as a message and we will post it online!  Lets see if we can track his journey around the village.

On Sunday morning one special entry will receive a chocolate treat on their doorstep from the bunny himself!  Please include your bunnies name only with your message and, if you are happy to post it, your road name for fellow bunny spotters to see.  This would be great but is not essential for you to take part.  We'll try and post your competition entries here too.

Duck Race - let's make our own sort of duck race around the village

posted 9 Apr 2020, 06:38 by Kate Brown   [ updated 9 Apr 2020, 06:40 ]

After careful consideration, the Street Fair organisers have decided to cancel all events planned for the Street Fair Weekend in May 2020 including the annual Duck Race.  To follow further news on this follow their FaceBook page: facebook.com/southcerneystreetfair.

But people in the village have decided that we still love our ducks and want to find another way of showing our love for them.  So, it would be great to see a variety of drawings, paintings, and creations from residents regardless of age or ability, all displayed in windows around the village for others to enjoy as they drive or walk past.

Why not take a photo of your creation before you put it on display and we can share it in south cerney ducks 2020 their FaceBook where there are lots more pictures from around the village.

Fenton's has joined in with some pictures in our window too.
