We are opening up again!

posted 13 Aug 2020, 05:30 by Kate Brown   [ updated 22 Aug 2020, 07:42 ]

We are delighted to say that we are open again!  But to meet Covid 19 safety requirements we cannot do everything we used to do all at once - it is a gradual process.

When entering the building please wear a face mask (unless you are exempt or uncomfortable) and also when moving about the building or queuing. We are operating a one-way system entering through the front door and exiting through the rear doors - all signposted.  There is hand sanitiser at all entrances and exits.  We are taking appropriate additional cleaning measures.

Join us in the Cafe @ Fenton's for coffee and cake (and tea or soft drinks if you prefer!) between 9 am and 1 pm Monday to Saturday.  We will need to take your contact details for the national 'track and trace' system.  Contactless payment only please.  There is seating indoors and outside.  Although you need to wear a mask when ordering at the counter and when moving about the building you can of course remove it when seated eating and drinking and when outdoors on the terrace.

Classes and clubs in the sports hall are gradually restarting and many classes and clubs do not meet in August anyway.  Please contact your tutor, details on the left hand side of the What's On? page, to see what is happening for your class or club and if and how you need to book as class sizes have had to be reduced to meet social distancing requirements.  On-line classes may also still be running.  Your tutor will advise but generally you need to bring your own mats or equipment for most classes, to arrive ready dressed if you can and with your belongings in one bag that can also accommodate your shoes and that you will keep with you in the Sports Hall.  Although you do need to wear a face mask to enter the building you do not, currently anyway, need to wear it while exercising during your class.  The hall floor has been marked up with dots to aid you in social distancing from other class members.

For the moment the meeting room is not available for bookings.

Contact us Contact Details if you have any queries.  Our booking terms and Covid conditions are set out in documents on our Policies page.  We hope to be fully open again in September and look forward to seeing you again!

COVID-19 Amended Hiring Conditions for Fenton's Community Centre

posted 26 Jul 2020, 14:44 by Kate Brown   [ updated 27 Jul 2020, 01:58 ]

Fenton's Community Centre is now allowed to re-open in accordance with Government guidance on the safe use of community facilities.  For details of our Terms of Hire and Covid-19 usage information please see Policies.

Because of the need to observe social distancing the centre cannot have as many people in the building as it used to at any one time so class sizes are likely to be reduced.  Your class tutor will be able to advise on what is happening with individual classes - tutor contact details are at What's On?

Help us decorate our windows again!

posted 9 Jun 2020, 12:29 by Kate Brown

We are looking to decorate our window again and would love your help! We would love to see photos, drawings, paintings or posters sharing the beauty of our area and how we can continue to keep it safe and tidy!

Perhaps you could make a 'stop littering' poster or share a photo of a bird's nest in your garden. Perhaps a painting of the sunset or a collage of flowers. WE NEED YOUR HELP.

This is open to people of all ages to celebrate the beauty of our village. Please leave your masterpieces in the box in the porch at Fenton's. Thank you in advance for all your continued support.

South Cerney Halls VE Day decorations

posted 8 May 2020, 01:31 by Kate Brown   [ updated 8 May 2020, 01:33 ]

This village has been amazing as usual! A myriad of beautiful bunting dropped into Fenton's to decorate the window for VE Day.

The Village Hall has theirs up too!

Ann Edward's School kindly sent bunting over too made by the Keyworker's children who are attending school.

If you are passing on your daily exercise why not see if you can spot yours!
