No Littering Sign Competition

I am very pleased to announce that 95 children from the village took part in this competition. The downside of course is that it was very difficult to choose only 2 winners.
After much deliberation the artwork finally chosen were designs submitted by Lexi age 9 and Ruby age 10. These were well drawn and clearly convey the message that littering is harmful to the environment and must stop. Both girls win a colouring set for their efforts. The signs are now going up around the village, pictures below.
I’d like to say a big thank you to all the children that were involved. A special mention goes out to the Brownies and Beavers groups who kindly invited me to their meetings to talk about this important issue. My thanks also to Fenton’s Halls who helped make this initiative a success by promoting it as their summer drawing competition.
The winning designs will now be made into weatherproof signage and will be appearing around the village in due course. Don’t forget to look out for them and please also remember the girls message…..Do Not Litter! Thank you, Julie Thain – South Cerney
